The future of Taysom Hill with the New Orleans Saints remains unknown. Next season is Hill's final season under contract with the team. 2026 and 2027 are both void years on his deal, to help with the salary cap hit on an annual basis.
Cutting or trading Hill is on the table, with the prior option seeming more likely if New Orleans moves on from him.
Update on Taysom Hill
According to Ian Rapoport, it is "hard to imagine" that Hill will be back with the Saints next season.
"They have a decision coming on Taysom Hill. Hard to imagine he'd be back in New Orleans, but anything is possible." -- Rapoport via NFL Network
Designating Taysom as a post-June 1st cut would save the Saints $9.7 million this season. With a massive cap hit of just over $18M looming (via Spotrac), moving on may be painful but necessary for New Orleans.
If Hill does get cut by the Saints, it would be no surprised to see the Denver Broncos and Sean Payton get involved to try to bring him in to join their roster.
Keep in mind - Hill suffered a torn ACL in the back half of last season. He's 35 years old, coming off one of the most serious injuries that can happen to a player with his skillset and role for the Saints.
Seeing Hill wear anything other than black and gold will assuredly be weird for the Saints and their fans, but it may turn into a reality this offseason.
