Elway labeled Nix as one of his favorite NFL quarterbacks to watch. Nix's play during his rookie season is a major reason why the Broncos are in contention to make the NFL playoffs.

"I'm really excited to see what Bo Nix is doing in Denver," Elway explained to Athlon Sports. "I think that he's a young guy that is in a good situation. Had a lot of experience.

"Started 60 college football games," Elway continued. "A very mature kid with all the athleticism that he has. And so, really enjoy watching him."

Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, Nix's projections featured a wide range of potential outcomes, including falling outside the first round. Denver showed how much the team liked Nix by selecting the former Oregon Ducks quarterback with the No. 12 pick.

Elway is very familiar with the spotlight that comes with being the Broncos starting quarterback. The Denver legend urged Nix to try to avoid listening to the outside noise.

"Well, I think the key thing is to try to stay within yourself," Elway said of his advice to Nix. "I think [it is best] to try to live up to your own expectations and don't live up to what's going on outside the walls."

Elway has battled a hand condition known as Dupuytren's contracture. The NFL legend has found success using the FDA-approved Xiaflex as a non-surgical treatment option.

"It's something that 5% of the population has this condition," Elway explained. "It's something that's a progressive condition that continues to get worse. And so, therefore, we're encouraging people to go to findahandspecialist.com.

"And if you're experiencing constrictions in your fingers as well as your hand where you can't put your hand flat on a table, [you should] explore the different options."
