NFL world immediately proves Tyron Smith right after his strong comments about an important Dallas Cowboys All-Pro

Former Dallas Cowboys left tackle and future Hall of Famer Tyron Smith knows a thing or two about playing offensive line at the NFL level.

NFL world immediately proves Tyron Smith right after his strong comments about an important Dallas Cowboys All-Pro

His trained eye leaves him to believe there's one player on the current Cowboys offensive line whose career knows no limits: Second-team All-Pro left guard Tyler Smith.

“For Tyler Smith, the sky is the limit," Smith told the Forth Worth Star-Telegram in a recent exclusive interview with Nick Harris.

The NFL world just the older Smith it agrees with him after ESPN's Jeremy Fowler released its yearly rankings of interior offensive linemen as annonymous ranked by a collective of league execs, coaches, and scouts.

In the 2025 edition, Tyler Smith ranked second in the entire NFL and he even received at least one first-place vote. A defensive line coach called him the "best guard in football." And that's not all the praise he received.

"Most physically gifted guard in the league who could legitimately be a top starter at LT if they wanted to play him there. Strong, athletic, nasty, and cut his holding penalties in half last year."

Tyler Smith needs to keep doing what he is doing

According to Tyron Smith—who is currently involved in Tyler Guyton's training—all his former teammate needs to do moving forward is keep honing in on his craft.

“The next step for Tyler Smith is just continuing doing what he’s doing,” Tyron Smith said via Forth Worth Star-Telegram. “He has the raw talent, the raw strength. He has it naturally. Even for him, slow the game more for himself to hone in more on his technique. He learned early on that you don’t have to muscle everything. You can slow the game down for yourself by honing in on your technique. That will make you last long in this league, and I think Tyler Smith learned that very early on.”

Big contract negotiations ahead for Tyler Smith

The Cowboys left guard is entering his fourth career year in the NFL and is under contract through 2026. The former first-round draft pick was drafted to eventually become Tyron's replacement at left tackle but his sheer dominance on the interior is likely to convince Dallas to leave him at tackle. Though he can be a solid contributor on the edge, it's tough to move a dominant player out of his current position.

Very soon, Smith will be sitting down at the negotiation table seeking a major contract from the Cowboys. For now, it's all about dominating on the football field and establishing himself as one of the best in the business. In the eyes of NFL decision makers, he already is.
