The Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved to 4-1 against Nick Sirianni's Philadelphia Eagles with another blowout win in Week 4. The Bucs won the game handily, getting off to a 24-0 lead before letting up off the gas pedal and allowing the Eagles to make it look a little less lopsided.
The Bucs went on to win the game by a score of 33 to 16 and afterward, Sirianni took the blame for the loss, noting that he didn't have his team ready to play.
"I didn't have the guys ready to start," Sirianni said, "Early on in the game, I thought we had some missed tackles – thought we had a couple drops. Those are going to stop drives and those are going to extend drives – and that's where it's going to have to start with fundamentals. Then, it's going to be looking at what kind of positions we are putting the guys in. But, yeah – we didn't play well enough and coach well enough fundamentally, penalty-wise – everything."
Since Sirianni was hired as the Eagles head coach in 2021, the Bucs have gone 4-1 against him, including a blowout win over Philly in the Wild Card round last season. You'd think that with the butt kickings the Bucs have given Sirianni since he became the Eagles head coach that he'd have had his team a little more prepared and ready to go, but apparently not.
It's always fun to watch the Bucs win but it's even more fun when they beat a team like the Eagles, whose fanbase is incredibly loud and obnoxious, something that Sirianni has mirrored. There might not be a head coach easier to root against (with the exception of Sean Payton) than Sirianni, whose mannerisms and attitude make him very unlikable.
Fortunately, the Bucs have had no problems putting the guy in his place. As Sirianni once said to Chiefs fans, "SEEEEEE YAAAA!"
