The Green Bay Packers and head coach Matt LaFleur know Robert Saleh well. Not only did he spend half of the 2024 season in Green Bay consulting, but him and LaFleur go way back in their coaching careers.
Heading into 2025, Saleh will once again be a defensive coordinator, this time for the San Francisco 49ers. However, the Packers may be in line to poach one of Saleh’s best defenders.
Packers In Line To Spell Horrible News For Robert Saleh
According to the Acme Packing Company, the 49ers could be in line for a key loss to an NFC Rival:
San Francisco 49ers: LB Dre Greenlaw
We barely saw any Dre Greenlaw in the 2024 season due to an unfortunate torn Achilles suffered during the Super Bowl in February of last year. Greenlaw played in just two games, where he accumulated 9 tackles.
It’s never a guarantee as to how players are going to bounce back from injuries like an Achilles tear, but something tells me that 27-year-old Greenlaw has a few more productive seasons left in him. The injury came as Greenlaw closed out his best season as a pro, with 120 tackles, 4 QB hits, and 1.5 sacks. Packers fans can certainly dream of getting guys like Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby, but Dre Greenlaw on a cheap(er) deal feels really realistic.
