The Green Bay Packers have shown plenty of promise under head coach Matt LaFleur in recent seasons, giving them an opportunity to ascend to the top of the NFC North Division this season.
Quarterback Jordan Love has proved to be a worthy successor to Aaron Rodgers since Rodgers was dealt to the New York Jets, giving Packers fans hope for a better season in 2025.
Rodgers, Love's self-described 'mentor,' still hasn't found a new home after he was released by the Jets this offseason.
On Thursday, Love was posed a poignant question by podcaster Kay Adams as to whether or not he would like to play and defeated his former mentor on the football field this year, which had the former Utah State QB bursting out in a fit of laughter.
"You play the Vikings and the Steelers this season, so if your old friend Aaron Rodgers stays in the National Football League, you will play him potentially," Adams said to Love on her 'Up & Adams' podcast on the FanDuel Network.
"How do you feel about that?" she added.
"Yeah, we'll have to see, who knows what team he's going to end up on right now, you know, so we'll see that, I would definitely love to play A-Rod, that will be cool to obviously, starting my career with him to being a backup to now playing against him, that would definitely be a pretty cool experience," Love said.
"But, we'll see where he ends up, I know there's a lot of question marks around that, so
"Jordan, what if he doesn't play anymore, what if this is it?" Adams asked Love.
"We'll see, I'm not even going to speak on that. I hope that's not the case, watching that man play, I definitely think he's got some more years in the tank.
"But, you know, that was my mentor coming into the league so I'd hate to see him go out, but he's had a phenomenal, phenomenal career, definitely a Hall-of-Famer but I don't think he's ready to end it though, so we'll see."
"I feel like you want to beat him before he goes," Adams added with a smile.
"I want to beat everybody," Love said, bursting out in a fit of laughter at Adams' comment.
