Packers: Jordan Love Drops Personal Comment About Davante Adams (Report)

The Green Bay Packers may have their next franchise quarterback already.  Just one season removed from trading away Aaron Rodgers, the Packers are ready to give Love a massive contract extension.  If Love pans out, it will be back-to-back-to-back franchise quarterbacks to suit up for Green Bay.

That being said, a lot went down over the last few years to get to this point.  Two major moves were made before Love took over.  First the Packers traded away Davante Adams, then traded away Aaron Rodgers.  Love had something to say regarding his former wide receiver.

Jordan Love has won the hearts of many Green Bay Packers fans. It must have been thrilling for the Cheesehead faithful to see him perform so well as a starter, taking over for the future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.

He has also been praised by his peers in the NFL for his performance. One of Jordan Love’s former teammates recently spoke highly of him. Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams called Love a ““f***ing baller.”

Love was extremely appreciative:

“Yeah, that’s awesome,” Love said after practice this past week. “Being able to hear and get some praise from Davante – he’s a guy I played with and have a lot of respect for – is awesome.”

According to Kenneth Teape of Packers Coverage:

Adams last played with the Packers in 2021 before a contract dispute led to him leaving town. He was traded to the Raiders, beginning what turned out to be a massive youth movement in Green Bay.

Part of the reason that Adams was looking to move was the uncertainty under center. No one knew what to make of Jordan Love, who was still sitting behind Rodgers and mostly only getting live reps in preseason games.

But, during an appearance on Maxx Crosby’s “The Rush” podcast, Adams had nothing but praise for his former teammate. Adams has no regrets about requesting a trade, but Jordan Love is someone he certainly would have loved to catch passes from.

“At the time when I was there [in Green Bay], I hadn’t necessarily seen enough to say this is for sure what I should do,” Adams said. “But in hindsight, like we talked about, the kid is a f***ing baller, man. I’m so happy for him.
