The Green Bay Packers are getting ready for an important matchup this Monday against the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field. The Packers are virtually ensured of a spot in the NFL playoffs but a win against the visiting Saints will officially give them a ticket to the postseason.
Among those expected to deliver for the Packers in Week 16 is no other than star running back Josh Jacobs, who shared a message of gratitude via Instagram Stories on Saturday.
“Thank you Lord,” the 26-year-old Jacobs wrote.
Jacobs is on a hot streak going into the Saints game. He has scored at least a touchdown in each of the last five Packers games. Over that stretch, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star running back has accumulated a total of 385 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns on 107 carries. Overall in the 2024 NFL regular season — his first with Green Bay — thus far, Jacobs has amassed 1,147 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns on 265 carries.
Jacobs can add more to his season totals this Sunday against the Saints, who are just 27th in the league overall with 134.4 rushing yards allowed per game and 22nd with 1.1 rushing touchdowns given up per outing. Conversely, the Packers are fourth in the NFL with 144.4 rushing yards per contest.
