Packers’ Josh Jacobs gets 100% real on Jordan Love’s evolution into elite status

Jordan Love turned out to be a pleasant surprise for the Green Bay Packers after lighting it up in his first year as the starting quarterback. Now the hope is he takes the leap forward to become an elite quarterback in the league. In a recent interview, new teammate Josh Jacobs pinpoints what he’s seen from Love.

During a guest appearance on the Green Light with Chris Long podcast, Jacobs believes Love made the turn midway through last season. However, it sounds like Jordan Love has plenty of more room to become an elite option in Green Bay.

“After our game, it was like a game or two after we played them. I was like, I could tell y’all as a team figured it out. You could tell they look like a totally different team. And what I think what it was was, man, you had a lot of young guys had to play crucial roles on the field. I think it was a lot about confidence, but not only that, when you get midway through the season, especially when you are in your first or second year, everything finally starts to click…You are kind of like, alright, I already know everything. So now you’re going out there and you’re putting your spin on the game and when you put your spin on it, that’s when a lot of plays come to life and that’s what it looks like happen for them.”

Jordan Love truly looked like a franchise quarterback in the 2023-24 season. He finished the season with 4,159 passing yards, 36 total touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Love turned on the jets in the back half of the season and helped lead the Packers to a playoff appearance.

The hype is real for Love and he’s now set up to be a legitimate superstar for the Packers. He’ll have a better camaraderie with his teammates and the front office did a great job to build around Jordan Love. Expectations are high in Green Bay but Love looks the part heading into the 2024-25 season.

Jordan Love’s 2024 season outlook for Packers

The NFC North belongs to the Detroit Lions right now after they made a deep playoff run to the NFC Championship game. However, the Packers are looking like they’re going to give the Lions a run for their money next season and it’s all thanks to Jordan Love’s development.

If Love takes the next step in his development then Green Bay will be a problem. The wide receiver core looks stacked with Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs. Additionally, the defense should be stellar yet again, giving the Packers a consistent team all around. With all that in mind we should expect a big year from Jordan Love.

Love has the opportunity to throw for over well over 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. If he can do that then the Packers should be winning a lot of games next season.
