Packers: Josh Jacobs Grants Fan’s Strange Autograph Request

The Green Bay Packers had a joint practice with the Denver Broncos on Friday, as the two teams continue their preparation for the upcoming 2024 NFL season. Packers running back Josh Jacobs is also getting ready for his first season with his new team. There is definitely excitement over Jacobs’ addition to the Packers, and that can be felt even in Englewood, Colorado, where fans lined up to get autographs from the former Alabama Crimson Tide star.

One young fan even had a Croc signed.

It’s an unusual autograph request but Jacobs willingly inked the footwear without even looking puzzled. That young fan will forever remember that moment, and he’ll always have that white croc to use as a prop when telling a story about that time he met Jacobs.

Jacobs is looking to make a big impact on the Packers’ attack after playing his first five seasons in the NFL with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. After not getting the extension deal he wanted from the Raiders, Jacobs, who was taken in the first round (24th overall) by the Raiders at the 2019 NFL draft, signed a four-year deal worth $48 million with the Packers last March.

The Packers didn’t have a particularly explosive rushing attack in the 2023 NFL season where they ranked just 14th in the league with 114.9 rushing yards per game and 20th with 0.7 rushing touchdowns per contest, but Jacobs offers Green Bay hope that the team can dominate on the ground.

So far in his NFL career, Jacobs has 5,545 rushing yards and 46 touchdowns on 1,305 carries.
