Packers Make Move on Ultra-Athletic Potential Body Guard for Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is no stranger to selecting offensive linemen in drafts.

In the team's last five drafts, Green Bay has taken a total of 12 offensive linemen.

This year looks like no exception as Gute invited a prospect who possesses a unique blend of size and athleticism to add to his offensive arsenal.

The Packers have scheduled a pre-draft visit with former Oklahoma State offensive tackle Dalton Cooper, according to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero.

Cooper also has pre-draft visits scheduled with the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs.

He is currently projected to be a Day 3 draft selection and can provide some needed depth at the position for Green Bay.

The 6-foot-6, 326-pound lineman played three seasons at Texas State before transferring to Oklahoma State and playing his final two seasons there. Cooper started a total of 57 games in college.

He started and played a crucial role during Oklahoma State's 2023 season where they won 10 games, defeated Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl, and finished 16th in the final AP poll.

Cooper has shown that he can thrive in different environments from both a pass and run-blocking aspect.

In 2021 at Texas State, he posted a 90.1 Pro Football Focus (PFF) run-blocking grade. This ranked 10th among all of college football's eligible tackles for the season. During his final season at Oklahoma State, Cooper allowed zero sacks, just one QB hit, five hurries, and six pressures while posting an 85.5 pass-blocking grade.

He was named to the Sun-Belt Third Team in 2021 and an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2023.

What stands out above all is Cooper's athleticism as an offensive lineman. He ran a 4.99 40-yard dash and had an unofficial 9.01 Relative Athletic Score (RAS).

When it comes to upside and potential in offensive linemen during this year's draft, Cooper is someone who should be in those discussions.

The Oklahoma native played 2,054 snaps at left tackle and 171 snaps at right tackle over his last three collegiate seasons.

Cooper can very well become a swing tackle for the team immediately with potential to become a starter down the line or step in for injuries on the line.

He would be a great fit in Green Bay and wouldn't command a high draft selection. The Packers possess eight total picks, including five Day 3 picks, which is where Cooper is more than likely to be selected.
