Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was slighted last Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions, and his teammates haven’t forgotten about it.
While the Miami Dolphins aim to “change narratives” about the franchise’s performance in cold-weather games, Love’s Packers are out for retribution on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.
One year ago, the Packers went into Ford Field and upset their division rivals, 29-22, while Love orchestrated one of his finest performances to date against one of the NFL’s most dominant franchises in recent memory.
Love finished that game 22-of-32 passing for 268 yards and three touchdowns against the Lions’ defense and stifling front seven.
The Packers’ quarterback was named the John Madden MVP of the game, however, he was not awarded one of the signature turkey legs handed out to players of the game in year’s past by Fox. That didn’t sit well with Love’s teammates.
Tight end Tucker Kraft put Fox color commentator Greg Olsen on blast for his part in Love’s snub.
Likewise, Packers running back AJ Dillon hasn’t forgotten.
Thursday night’s game will be broadcast on NBC, and the network has the chance to right Fox’s wrong, if Love shows out against the Dolphins on Thanksgiving night.
