Packers: Story Regarding Jordan Love Being A “No Show” At Training Camp Surfaces

The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love hope to have a bright and long future together in Green Bay.  The 2023 season marked the first time Love was under center for every regular season (and post season) game.

Here is where he ranked after one full season:

Both the Packers and Love have made it clear they want a contract extension done this off-season.  The Packers feel they have their next franchise quarterback and Love feels he can be that guy.  However, could he possibly be a no-show when the Packers take the field for training camp?

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan Love doesn’t show up to camp… (if they don’t have a deal)” –Aaron Nagler on the Jordan Love contract situation

Nagler did make it very clear that he thinks a deal will get done before the start of training camp at the end of July.  However, it is certainly an interesting take.

Love is under contract for the Packers until 2024.

Rather than a fifth-year option on his rookie contract, he signed a one-year extension last year worth $22.5 million.

Love is now likely to become one of the highest paid players in the NFL in the $50 million-$55 million/year range if other recent contracts are any indication.

Every outlet predicts it’s a matter of “when” not “if” the contract gets done.  It will be interesting to see how this contract negotiation plays out.
