Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are constantly rewriting the Kansas City Chiefs' franchise history books.
When the Las Vegas Raiders come to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on Black Friday, both Mahomes and Kelce will have the opportunity to set new franchise records. Mahomes can pass Hall of Famer Len Dawson for the most touchdown passes in Chiefs history with 238, and Kelce can pass Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdown receptions with 77.
How awesome would it be if Mahomes hits Kelce for a touchdown on Friday and they break both records on the same play? That would definitely be one of the greatest moments in team history. It would be one of many as each of them are not only future Chiefs Hall of Famers, but NFL Hall of Famers.
Mahomes already owns the Chiefs records for most completions and passing yards, giving him the trifecta when he passes Dawson for touchdowns. The same applies to Kelce when he passes Gonzalez, who already leads all K.C. pass catchers in receptions and receiving yards.
Mahomes and Kelce are the most popular players to ever wear a Chiefs uniform, and are arguably the greatest quarterback-pass catcher duo in NFL history. When their careers are all said and done, they may be the greatest players at their respective positions in league history.
Their legends will grow even more if they are able to lead K.C. to the NFL's first ever Super Bowl three-peat. They're on a great track to do so sitting at a 10-1 record as we enter the stretch run of the regular season, but they know that they can't let their guard down and get complacent. That, in part, has been what has made each of them so great.
