Patrick Mahomes' Half-Brother Makes Unexpected Move After Chiefs Tryout

While Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes looks to add a fourth Super Bowl MVP title to his resume next season, his half-brother, Graham Walker, is trying earn a spot in the NFL.

Walker's name was not called during the 2025 NFL draft, however, he received a coveted invite to the Chiefs rookie minicamp last weekend.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters, ""It's great to be back here and to be able to get onto the practice field with some of our young guys.

"It's a good group. I think [General Manager] Brett [Veach] and his gang have done a great job of bringing in some really good football players, whether they were drafted or free agents. It looks like a good crew."

Out of 60 tryout players, the Chiefs signed three -- safety Major Williams, wide receiver Jimmy Holiday, and linebacker Cooper McDonald.

While fans loved the prospect of Mahomes playing on the same team as his half-brother, the Chiefs may feel set at tight end after moving quick to sign Clemson's Jake Briningstool after the NFL draft.

While Kansas City seemed to pass on Walker, the rookie prospect made the move to try out for another AFC team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. He appeared at the team's facility on May 9.

One Panthers fan reacted, "Mahomes kinfolk?!" One man joked, "Chiefs trying to get inside information."

Another person wrote, "Looks like Graham Walker (Patrick's half brother) didn't make the cut on the Chiefs which makes me sad but I'm happy to hear he's on his way to Jaguars minicamp for another tryout."

Walker, who shares the same father as Mahomes, spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career playing wide receiver at Brown University, where he racked up 125 catches, 1,465 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

After transferring to Rice University and volunteering to switch to tight end with the Owls, Walker registered 24 receptions for 252 yards.

If all goes well, he may catching passes from quarterback Trevor Lawrence at Jaguars' training camp this summer.
