Patrick Mahomes Post Sparks Super Bowl Debate

As the NFL season draws closer, mainstream sports media is starting to shift its focus back to football. One team expected to draw plenty of attention again in 2025 is the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes Post Sparks Super Bowl Debate

After winning back-to-back Super Bowl titles, the Chiefs fell short in the final game last season, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the conversation is centered around whether Patrick Mahomes can add more rings to his resume and potentially catch Tom Brady’s historic mark.

On Sunday morning, Fox Sports marked the five-year anniversary of Mahomes signing his record-breaking contract with the Chiefs. That post, meanwhile, reignited a lively debate on social media.

The outlet concluded the post with the burning question regarding the star quarterback's career: "How many Super Bowl rings will Mahomes have by the end of his career?"

Soon, the fans chimed in to share their wide range of opinions.

One of the fans, who had an interesting take, wrote, "I think he'll end up with 5 or 6 rings when his career is over, but it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up matching Brady with 7."

"Mahomes will never win a Superbowl again, bookmark this post," added a skeptic.

Someone else mused, "Honestly I think he has peaked but that doesn’t mean he can’t win some more championships…he’s still good enough to get it done."

"Probably 5. But they need Kelce to retire," posted someone here.

Another doubter from this commenter: "He won’t win another ring."

An optimistic fan, however, stated, "10."

Mahomes, now 29, signed a 10-year deal worth $503 million, the richest in American sports history at the time. That agreement reset the quarterback market and is still referenced often, especially after Brock Purdy’s recent deal with the 49ers. Purdy signed a five-year, $265 million contract, which pays him $53 million annually.

Despite turning 30 in September, Mahomes remains one of the league’s top quarterbacks. Last season, the former Texas Tech star threw for 3,928 yards and 26 touchdowns. Over his career, he’s posted 245 touchdown passes to just 74 interceptions.
