Patrick Mahomes' Three-Word Reaction to Major Retirement Announcement

The offseason is an opportunity for NFL teams to get back to the drawing board and prepare for the upcoming campaign. This has been the case for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are looking to bounce back this season following their heartbreaking Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in February.

Sad as it might be, the reality is that the offseason is also a time for players – especially those who have been in the NFL for an extended period – to reflect on their respective careers and what the future holds for them. In this light, the offseason also brings about retirement announcements from players across the league.

This was the case for veteran wide receiver Chris Conley, as the 32-year-old wide receiver announced his decision to retire. Conley, who played the last two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, took to Instagram on Saturday to announce his retirement from the NFL after 10 playing years.

Patrick Mahomes played alongside Conley with the Chiefs for two seasons. This was at the start of Mahomes' career, and Conley was one of his weapons out wide.

Mahomes sent Conley a three-word message on Sunday.

"Congrats my man!!!" Mahomes commented on Conley's post.

One of the photos Conley used in his retirement announcement included Mahomes. The Chiefs' star quarterback appreciated the gesture, and Mahomes decided to share the photo on his Instagram stories.
