Pedro Pascal Lookalike Winner Wants Real Version To Meet His Wife

Pedro Pascal fans were surprised when the winner of a recent lookalike contest, George Gountas, made a heartfelt plea on national television. The Pedro Pascal lookalike contest, held at a New York restaurant on Father’s Day, crowned Gountas, an unassuming Brooklyn dad who closely resembles the Last of Us star. What started as a fun Father’s Day outing quickly turned into a viral moment, with his wife playing a surprising role in the story.

Appearing on The Daily Show, George Gountas shared how his wife, Jenny Gania, reacted to his sudden fame.

The Pedro Pascal lookalike revealed that she’s completely fine with the attention, but on one condition. “Her position is, ‘I’m cool with you getting all this attention, if I can meet Pedro Pascal,'” Gountas said. In a direct message to the real Pascal, he said, “Hey Pedro, this is Pedro #5 from New York. It would be a great, great, great gift if you could meet my wife, Jenny. It would mean the world to her. We need to make this happen.”

Jon Stewart, amused by the charm and sincerity, encouraged the actor to respond, telling Gountas, “I don’t see how Pedro #1 could turn down Pedro #5.”

Gountas told Stewart that he didn’t even register ahead of time for the Pedro Pascal lookalike contest. “I rolled up and I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m here,'” he said. “And they were like, ‘You’re going to win.'” And they were right. Out of 30 contestants, he took home the top prize: $50 and a year’s supply of burritos. Gountas, who works as a lighting designer on The Daily Show, admitted that the attention has been “insane.”

Gountas’ wife, Jenny Gania, recalled how she had encouraged her husband to participate. She told the New York Post that when Game of Thrones came out, people started pointing out the resemblance. “Then some kids started noting it, too, so I was like, when we saw this [contest], I was like, ‘It’s Father’s Day. You have to go. It’s going to be your Father’s Day treat,” she said. Despite not being on social media, Gountas has now become a recognizable face online.
