Philadelphia Eagles Fans Want HC Nick Sirianni Fired After Brutal MNF Loss

The Philadelphia Eagles and head coach Nick Sirianni were 1-0 heading into what many thought would be an easy week-two matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Despite a 3rd and 3 red zone opportunity inside the 10-yard line with a three-point lead under two minutes, the Eagles could not finish off the Falcons and a still-injured Kirk Cousins at quarterback.

After a historical collapse at the end of the 2023 season and an apparent inability to close out games against lesser opponents at the beginning of the 2024 season, Eagles fans have had enough of head coach Nick Sirianni.

Sirianni called a pass play to running back Saquon Barkley with under two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The Eagles were in the red zone but needed just three yards to get a first down. Barkley averaged over four yards per carry and quarterback Jalen Hurts averaged over six yards per carry in the loss.

Many Eagles fans are upset because they thought Sirianni should have called a run to keep the clock moving in case they were unable to get the first down and had to settle for a field goal. Instead, Barkley was targeted on a pass play but a drop caused the clock to stop.

The play design and call would have won the Eagles the game had Barkley held onto the pass, but Eagles fans are still upset with Sirianni for taking the risk that they perceive as unnecessary.
