Philadelphia Eagles lose wide receiver for clash with Steelers

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without wide receiver and return specialist Britain Covey against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Despite practicing in full late in the week, the Eagles ruled Covey out. He has been battling a neck injury, and has played in just five games this season.

With Covey out, Cooper DeJean will return punts for the Eagles. Covey has six returns for 46 yards this season in his five games for Philadelphia. He is the only inactive.

Covey played in 16 games last season, but rotation changes and injuries have forced him to miss much of the 2024 campaign. Jahan Dotson will start in the slot, as he has done most of the season since being traded by the Washington Commanders.

Safety Reed Blankenship and defensive back Sydney Brown had both missed time in previous weeks, but they will play against the Steelers, meaning the secondary is back to being fully healthy for the Eagles.
