Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts gives one of his biggest believers the ultimate gift

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts does not get a lot of love from the media; however, he can always count on the voice of the Birds, Merrill Reese, to have his back.

Reese has been the longtime radio voice of the Eagles, calling games since 1977. So he's seen his fair share of quarterbacks come through Philly, which makes his endorsements that more meaningful.

Hurts showed his mutual appreciation for Reese by gifting him a pair of signed cleats with the message: "To M. Reese, you saw it when no one else could - Love Always."

While Hurts' gift itself is thoughtful, it's the message written on it that truly stands out and shows Merrill that he is paying attention and genuinely values him just as much.

Hurts may claim he cancels out the noise of doubters, but it's nearly impossible when you're constantly in the spotlight and surrounded by endless critics.

Eagles OC Kevin Patullo Sings High Praise for Jalen Hurts' QB Growth

Hurts is about to play with his sixth offensive coordinator, which isn’t exactly easy, but you wouldn’t know it by watching him.

Eagles' newest offensive coordinator, Kevin Patullo, recently talked to the media and revealed that Hurts is only getting better -- both on and off the field.

“I think Jalen [Hurts] has done a really good job of just understanding everything now,” Patullo told reporters during training camp. “He’s becoming a really complete player in the pass game, he puts a lot of work into it. The quarterback meetings have been tremendous in terms of just understanding what the defense is doing, and what we’re trying to do, and how to attack ‘em. And, he takes a lot of pride in it.”

Patullo was an in-house hire and previously worked as the Eagles' passing game coordinator for four seasons, so he has seen Hurts develop over the years.

He also shared that the only difference between the Eagles' offense this year and last is that there is more communication.

That said, the Eagles should have no issues kicking off the 2025 NFL season right where they left off.
