Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Calvin Anderson suffered a groin injury during practice and was limited on Friday. Anderson is questionable to play after the injury and could miss Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
If Anderson can not play, the Steelers will likely use Max Scharping as depth, and Spencer Anderson could be the backup tackle. If they do not want to go that route, the Steelers could elevate one of Doug Nester or Dylan Cook to play.
Broderick Jones and Dan Moore Jr. have each played in all the Steelers' games this year. The team lost rookie Troy Fautanu to a dislocated kneecap early in the season, and Anderson was signed as the backup tackle shortly after that. Luckily for the Steelers, they have handled injuries on the offensive line well after that and have not suffered too many blows.
Anderson being out would take a veteran option away, but Anderson has worked at tackle more over the season following Fautanu’s injury.
