We're back with more predictions this time we break down what the second line could look like

The Washington Capitals begin their 50th season in just 46 days. You can feel the crisp air of autumn in the air already. After breaking down what the first line could look like we are back with a look at the second line plus how you can get involved in the DMV community.

Connor McMichael: 2023 Annual Review And Forecast | NoVa Caps

First here are our predictions for the second line starting off with a familiar face

Connor McMichael

Connor McMichael had 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points which was good enough for the Caps to say "okay let's re-up your contract". That's exactly what they did when free agency open so now it's all up to our favorite Connor Mc to seal his spot on the second line.

Pierre-Luc Dubois

The big offseason top six signing is expected to slide into the second line center position and if the expiriment works Pierre-Luc Dubois will pay dividends for the Capitals. With 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points, PLD looks for a resurgence and he may have just found the right home to do it.

Andrew Mangiapane

Andrew Mangiapane is expected to snag that right wing position on the second line. He had 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points and the 28 year old is looking to bounce back after seven years in Calgary.

DMV community involvement

The Caps recently announced the second season of the Capitals Inline Hockey League (CIHL) which began in 2023 as a co-ed youth incline travel league run by the team itself. Current inline hockey players ages 8-18 are invited to participate in the CIHL which consists of one team per club, per division. Year two of the CIHL will also see the addition of the Winchester Revolution out of Winchester, VA as the sixth participating club in the league. For more information check out Kelly Sienkowski's article here via potomaclocal.com.
