As the Philadelphia Eagles inch towards training camp and another preseason, it is becoming apparent that they seem satisfied with their secondary as constructed. Those who are keeping their fingers crossed in hopes that Howie Roseman makes another move can rest assured that there is hope. He often addresses the defensive backfield later than sooner.
Ronald Darby, Steven Nelson, C.J. Gardner-Johnson (the first time), and James Bradberry are all big-name acquisitions Howie made after the NFL Draft in April. Darby and Gardner-Johnson were added very late, during the preseason, but despite rumors connecting the Eagles to players this offseason, nothing much has happened.
Jaire Alexander was mentioned as a possible signing. He landed with the Baltimore Ravens. There was the Justin Simmons conversation. He was mentioned as a possible Eagles pickup and seemed interested. Nothing has happened there.
That brings us to Jalen Ramsey. Lines were drawn connecting the dots representing him and the Eagles, but thanks to a recent report, we can probably close the book on that theory.
Per Adam Schefter, Jalen Ramsey wants his next destination to be on the West Coast
Stick a fork in the 'Jalen Ramsey to Philadelphia' rumors. They appear to be all but done. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter hung out with Pat McAfee, and it seems, from what he is hearing, Jalen Ramsey wants his next destination to be on the West Coast.
The Miami Dolphins have been working to move Ramsey since early April. He is scheduled to earn $24.2 million during the coming regular season, and for all intents and purposes, it appears Miami will be paying some of that salary.
That seemingly isn't the Eagles' problem now. Instead, they'll continue focusing on an expected battle between Kelee Ringo and Adoree' Jackson to determine who locks down the starting outside cornerback position across the formation from Quinyon Mitchell.
