Bozoma “Boz” Saint John is speaking out against Sutton Stracke and her claims of being a success amid her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmate’s ongoing feud with Dorit Kemsley.
While also reacting to claims of Dorit, 48, using her as an ally amid season 14, shading Garcelle Beauvais, 58, for her “low blow,” and revealing if she had any show regrets, Boz, 48, detailed her plan for the reunion and commented on her potential season 15 return.
“It was a way to show that she was better than Dorit — in her head,” Boz explained when asked about Sutton’s “wallet” diss during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
According to Boz, Sutton chose to target Dorit from a financial standpoint because she knew what she was going through amid her separation from Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57.
“[PK] had sent her this huge, long email, talking about finances and how Dorit was going to be responsible for this and for that and for that. It was a very sore spot, and so I believe that Sutton said it as a way to continue to just dig into a very vulnerable area and be like, ‘I’m better than you,’” Boz noted. “She talks about her businesses, that she’s more successful, and all this stuff. And I’m just like, ‘Girl, please don’t brag unless you really have a solid, cement house.’”
Because Sutton, who was awarded six-figure monthly payments in her divorce from Christian Stracke, had brought up her success, Boz wanted to point out how she’d made her money.
“[But] I just let her breathe … I’m like, ‘Let’s not talk about wallets that don’t belong to you, and let’s not talk about successes that don’t belong to you,’” she explained.
Continuing on about Sutton, Boz confirmed she believes Sutton plays victim in situations of her own making and called her out as “calculating.”
“I think she actually is very calculating,” she shared.
Then speaking of her relationship with Dorit, Boz admitted that their connection was likely the result of “time, place, and opportunity.”
“I don’t know if I had come in in her sixth season if we would’ve bonded like we’ve bonded now,” she revealed. “When I met her, she was in a very vulnerable place. Here I come — someone who’s willing to listen, who didn’t carry the baggage of eight years of friendship to say, ‘God, I don’t want to hear her talk anymore.’”
As for the suggestion that Dorit only gravitated to her because she needed a buoy, Boz said that may very well have been the case.
“Maybe, but I’m not offended by it,” she clarified. “In life, you often do need buoys. You need people you can hold onto if you feel like you are drowning. [But] I think that we’ve created enough relationship, enough of a friendship, that it is beyond just the trauma bond.”
“I’m actually very surprised that it became such a contentious point that somehow me becoming friends with somebody would offend other people and keep me from becoming friends with them,” she added of her and Dorit’s friendship.
While Boz didn’t bond with the entire RHOBH cast, she did take a liking to more than just Dorit.
“I love [Erika Jayne]. Erika is an incredible human. She’s been thought a lot … talk about somebody who’s evolved — but she’s still got her bite … and she’s so much fun,” Boz gushed. “I love Garcelle. I think Garcelle is so much fun. We didn’t get to spend as much time together, but I think she’s somebody I could really get along with.”
That said, she didn’t appreciate Garcelle’s suggestion that she’s Dorit’s mouthpiece.
“It’s a low blow,” she stated. “We all know that Garcelle has stuck up for Sutton forever — and I’m not even mad at that. All of us have friends where if you were to get into a conflict with somebody, would stand up immediately. Everybody needs that person, so I don’t know how that became this villainous thing.”
Reflecting on her debut season, Boz confirmed she has no regrets.
“I really don’t operate in a place of regret,” she explained. “I said what I said when I said it.”
As for the reunion, Boz noted that she hoped she’d be prepared.
“You can only be as prepared as you can with the information that you have … You just have to be on your feet, and you pray that you’re smart enough to be able to respond in the moment, and so that’s all I’m going to do — is try to be as sharp as I can in response,” she shared.
Also during the interview, in regard to season 15, she added, “We’ll see. Somebody call me. Let me know.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
