Reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, have the chance to do something incredibly special in the 2025 NFL season.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl defense gets underway on opening night against their fierce rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, before an immediate rematch of the Super Bowl against the Chiefs in Week 2.
Their offense has remained largely intact, with the combination of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, and a large sprinkling of AJ Brown and Devonta Smith, set to terrorize defenses once again.
Howie Roseman made some astute moves on the defensive side, too, trading away C.J. Gardner Johnson before drafting rookie safety Andrew Mukuba in the second round.
Analyst Rich Eisen explained that the Philadelphia Eagles can make an incredible piece of NFL history this season, provided they win it all again.

Philadelphia Eagles can become 2nd team ever to win the Super Bowl back-to-back after another NFL team won it back-to-back
The Eagles have the chance to do something not done since Super Bowl X, started by the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl VII, and then sealed by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As Rich Eisen explains, if the Eagles can go back-to-back this year, they will become only the second team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl twice in a row after another team did it before them.
Speaking on the Rich Eisen show, Eisen said: “The last time we saw back-to-back Super Bowl champs followed up by back-to-back Super Bowl champs, which would happen if the Philadelphia Eagles won this year.
“It’s only happened once in the history of the National Football League. We’re going into Super Bowl 60, I believe, this year, right? 60, 6-0.
“Super Bowls 7 and 8 were won by the Miami Dolphins, and then the Steelers won Super Bowls 9 and 10. That’s the last and only time you’ve ever seen it happen.”
The Kansas City Chiefs were going for a historic three-peat in Super Bowl XIX, before the Eagles stopped them in their tracks.
Eagles should be the favorites to secure back-to-back Super Bowl history
Colin Cowherd believes five teams can win the Super Bowl this season, with the three obvious sides from the AFC and two from the NFC.
The Baltimore Ravens, Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills are his three favorites in the AFC, which is not particularly outrageous.
In the NFC, Cowherd had the Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams. There is a strong case to involve the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders, but that will only come clear as the season goes on.
The Eagles are a level above the Rams and were far better than the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Unless the Bills or Ravens can overcome their AFC Championship playoff woes, the Eagles look good for a repeat.
