Patrick Mahomes has reached his fifth Super Bowl in seven seasons and is primed for a run at achieving the NFL ‘three-peat’ for the first time in history.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a model of consistency and have featured in seven consecutive AFC Championship games under head coach Andy Reid.
Mahomes is one of the best players in the league and is very well-drilled in finding ways to help his team win games.
A rematch of Super Bowl LVII is a tantalising prospect, but the Philadelphia Eagles are a different beast this time. They had the number one defense in the regular season, and they have Saquon Barkley.
The Chiefs should ask Reid about retirement every year according to Chris Simms, as he approaches the end of his career at the age of 66.
There aren’t many reasons to run away from this dynasty though, especially while Reid is drawing comparisons to NFL legends like Bill Belichick.

Rob Gronkowski shares spike advice after Patrick Mahomes ‘didn’t have’ control of football
Mahomes led the Chiefs to another win against the Buffalo Bills in the NFL playoffs two weeks ago, consolidating their run at the ‘three-peat’ as the best attempt in league history.
They’re the first team to make the Super Bowl in their third year chasing the honour, and they’re now just 60 minutes of football away from something incredibly special.
George Karlaftis realized Mahomes was special at rookie training camp, but his ability to spike a football isn’t heralded as much as his other traits.
After an embarrassing attempt against the Bills, Rob Gronkowski has handed him some tips ahead of Super Bowl LIX.
“The thing was, was that it was really cold out there and you’ve got to get a firm, firm grip of the football if you want to really bring all the power behind the spike,” he said.
“He didn’t have that firm grip and it slipped out of his hands when he was in that winding up. This time around he’s in a dome so I’m sure he’s going to have that grip, he’s going to be fine.”
How the Kansas City Chiefs achieved something they have never done in the Super Bowl era
The Chiefs were 9-0 during the regular season before the Bills took them down with a terrific performance, winning 30-21.
It wasn’t enough to derail the Chiefs’ efforts though, who went on to win another six games in a row before resting their starters against the Denver Broncos in week 18.
They could’ve gone 16-1 quite easily, despite playing what was considered to be far from their best at some stages in the season.
They faced multiple hurdles along the way as injuries to key offensive playmakers hurt their progress. It didn’t stop them from finding a way to win 15 games, meaning the Chiefs accomplished something they have never done in the Super Bowl era.
The Eagles will need to play a near-perfect game if they want to win their second Super Bowl on Sunday, otherwise, there will be some familiar headlines within the league next week.
