Russell Wilson compared the Pittsburgh Steelers to his Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks team after their win against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Pittsburgh Steelers established themselves as one of the top teams in the AFC after their 18-16 win against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The most pivotal play of the game came in the final two minutes, when Pittsburgh's defense stopped the Ravens on a game-tying two-point conversion attempt to hold onto the lead.
At 8-2, the Steelers now control their own destiny in the AFC North, and with an upcoming matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, they potentially have a path to a first-round bye as well.
Following the close win, quarterback Russell Wilson, who has experience on a championship team with the 2013 Seattle Seahawks, discussed how this Steelers team has some championship-winning qualities.
"I've been fortunate to be able to win a championship before. I think that on those championship teams, that Super Bowl team, we just had so much great talent," Wilson said. "But the thing about talent is that you also have to have the work ethic, the drive, the will to win and the ability to win close games."
"The defense made a huge, huge stop against a really good offense," said Wilson. "And on a two-point conversion to continue the lead and keep the lead at 18-16. To have a big-time kicker in [Chris Boswell]. Those are the type of championship moments you have to have."
The Steelers still have some tough tests ahead of them, including another matchup against the Ravens in Baltimore, but if they can continue to find ways to win close games, they have potential to make noise in January.
