Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson joined the Zac Brown Band on stage at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday.
Is a Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback showing up at Acrisure Stadium for a country concert? Well, it would not be the first time it has happened (see: Kenny Pickett chugging beer with Luke Combs last April). And the stadium is hosting a visitor tonight, as Kenny Chesney comes to town for his annual concern on the North Shore. And Russell Wilson showed up on Saturday evening.
One of the openers for the night of festivities, the Zac Brown Band, had Wilson join them on stage. Zac Brown donned a Russell Wilson jersey as Wilson joined them on stage momentarily.
This is another public appearance that Wilson has made since he inked a deal with the Steelers back in March. He has shown up at the NCAA Tournament, Penguins and Pirates games, and other notable public events around the city.
Chesney’s concert and tour are being held alongside Uncle Kracker, Megan Moroney, and the Zac Brown Band. He will continue his Summer tour by heading to Cuyahoga Falls next Thursday and then darting across the state of Pennsylvania to Philadelphia for another stadium concert next Saturday, this time at Lincoln Financial Field. Other stops include Chicago, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Detroit, Columbus, Nashville, Boston, and New York City.
