Russell Wilson Makes Opinion On Raiders Rumors Very Clear

Russell Wilson was dodging more than imaginary pass rushers at this weekend's Pro Bowl Games.

As rumors surrounding a potential reunion with Pete Carroll in Las Vegas continue to swirl, the veteran QB maintained that his focus is solely on returning to the Steelers right now.

"I'm looking forward to hopefully going back to the Steelers and we'll see what happens with the rest," Wilson told reporters, via the Associated Press. "I love it in Pittsburgh."

Whether or not the team feels the same way about him remains to be seen, but Wilson says he has a lot of football left in his 36-year-old body.

"I've been fortunate to play 13-plus years, and I've got a lot more ball left in me," Wilson explained. "I think staying healthy is always the thing. You've got to be healthy to play your best, and I feel great right now."

"Pete's going to be a great coach, obviously. He's great at what he does. But I'm focused on the Steelers."

The Steelers have said that they'd like to sign either Wilson or Fields to a contract for next season. But the idea of bringing them both back seems pretty unlikely, and initial leanings are that Pittsburgh may opt to go with the younger option.

"I think both of them see themselves as starters and I don't know that they want to share the same job again next year," team president Art Rooney II said at the top of the week. "So, I would say most likely we probably don't wind up bringing them both back."

Wilson played well for a stretch in 2024 and his numbers were certainly better than they were in Denver. However, the Steelers' play left a lot to be desired at the end of the year, especially offensively, and it's time for them to find their quarterback of the future.

Russell could be a great fit with the Raiders as Pete Carroll attempts to build his culture out west.

We'll see if they try to relive the glory days of the Legion of Boom in this decade with the Silver and Black.
