Saints bring back familiar face that really impressed them during the 2024 preseason

The New Orleans Saints lost a notable piece to their practice squad earlier this week. Khaleke Hudson was signed by the Cleveland Browns. Hudson was a depth defender.

Saints bring back Shemar Jean-Charles to their practice squad

Now, they are replacing his spot on their practice squad with an impact defender from their preseason action.

Saints re-sign Shemar-Jean Charles to practice squad

Jean-Charles is a veteran defensive back. He played tons of snaps alongside undrafted rookie CB Rico Payton in the preseason. Payton made the 53-man roster, while Jean-Charles was cut.

Jean-Charles is 26 years old.

He was originally a fifth-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played two seasons in Green Bay, appearing in 20 games on special teams and as a reserve defensive back.

The Saints always hoped to bring him back to their PS if the opportunity came around for them early in the season. That came to fruition ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
