Saints coach adds suspense to star player's availability before matchup with Cowboys

The New Orleans Saints have a few key injury situations to keep an eye on as Week 2 approaches. They need some good news ahead of a tough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

Saints coach Dennis Allen should be on the hot seat going into 2024

Saints head coach Dennis Allen discussed some injury updates on Friday afternoon's press conference with the media.

Marshon Lattimore's status remains up in the air

The Saints' top cornerback is still dealing with his hamstring injury. He did not practice all week. Ahead of a matchup against CeeDee Lamb, Lattimore's availability is a massive headline to watch for New Orleans.

Allen says Lattimore will make the trip to Dallas. Allen's comments did not instill confidence, nor seem negative, on Friday afternoon. His status truly seems undecided right now.

UPDATE: Lattimore is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Fuaga trending in right direction

As for the Saints' rookie left tackle, Fuaga is dealing with the same back injury from the offseason. The Saints HC described it as a tightness in his back.

Allen said repeatedly that he felt good about Fuaga. Hopefully, that means he will be able to suit up on Sunday against Dallas. Saturday is an important day for Fuaga, according to the rookie himself.

UPDATE: Fuaga is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Bryan Bresee missed practice on Friday with an illness. Isaiah Foskey has back tightness as well. He did not practice Friday.
