Saints Linked to Exciting Legacy Player in Newest 2026 Mock Draft

The New Orleans Saints continued preparations for the 2026 NFL season at training camp Monday at Oschner Sports Performance Center in Metaire, Louisiana, putting a spotlight on an offense that seeks to return to its explosive form under new head coach Kellen Moore.

The Saints' offense has reportedly looked uneven in recent days, highlighting the importance of consistency from a unit that has been productive at times but hasn't been able to fully hit its stride.

On Monday, the Saints were given a prime position in Luke Easterling's 2026 NFL Mock Draft, and were also linked to one of the most exciting prospects at his position in recent years, a New Orleans legacy player who could turn things around for an NFL franchise quickly if he lives up to his potential this season and beyond.

The Saints were projected to select Texas Longhorns first-time starter Arch Manning with the first pick of the 2026 NFL draft.

Manning is the grandson of legendary Saints quarterback Archie Manning and a top Heisman Trophy contender.

"There's still plenty Manning has to prove on the field now that he's the full-time starter for the Longhorns, but if he lives up to the hype, he could end up leading the same franchise that once made his grandfather the No. 1 overall pick," Easterling wrote about the Saints' selection Monday.

Manning was listed just ahead of South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers and Penn State quarterback Drew Allar as part of a projected early run on quarterbacks in 2026's draft.
