New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler is making a wardrobe change. It won't further his development, but it may give him another feeling of home while he's in The Big Easy.
AS of now, Rattler projects as the backup QB for the Saints in 2025, behind Derek Carr, once again. His rookie season was filled with up's and down's, but there arte plenty of fans of his game around the fan base.
Rattler changes his number
According to Rattler himself, he will be swapping to jersey number two. Rattler began his NFL career wearing number eighteen.
The young quarterback wore number seven at both South Carolina and Oklahoma in college, so the time with number two has been limited recently.
That being said, Rattler did wear the new number at Pinnacle High School before heading to Oklahoma. He also wore number two at last year's Senior Bowl ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
For Rattler, it is a shift back to some of his glory days and surely a feel-good moment for him. It is a bit surprising that the number has remained available as long as it has for New Orleans.
Last offseason, there was speculation that Chris Olave or Alontae Taylor would swap to the number two, but neither did, instead opting to stick with their current jersey digits.
