The New Orleans Pelicans horrific 2024-25 campaign is nearing a merciful end, meaning they can soon turn their attention towards the offseason. If you ask New Orleans Saints star defender Cameron Jordan in the NFL, he wants to see the Pelicans wind up with Duke Blue Devils star forward Cooper Flagg in the 2025 NBA draft.
After delivering on the hype surrounding him in his freshman campaign with Duke, Flagg is expected to declare for the upcoming draft and be the No. 1 overall pick. However, he didn't exactly make it seem like a surefire decision that he'd be entering the draft during a recent conversation he had on "SportsCenter."
"I think kind of what you said, just evaluating, you know, reflecting," Flagg said about his draft decision. "It was an incredible year. I met a lot of incredible people. Made a ton of great relationships that I'm going to have for the rest of my life, and I think now it's time for me to reflect. You know, take a couple days; take a week; take a month. Whatever it is for me. Talk to my parents, talk to the coaches and just really decide what's best for me."
Assuming he does end up declaring for the draft, whichever team winds up with the No. 1 overall pick via the NBA draft lottery would have the opportunity to add Flagg to their team. After witnessing the Pelicans ugly season, Jordan is praying that New Orleans is able to find a way to bring Flagg to town.
"Tuned into Pelicans… we deserve cooper Flagg plz," Jordan said in a post on X.
