According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday, the New Orleans Saints are re-signing former Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to a one-year contract.
Edwards-Helaire was selected by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Louisianna State University, where he was a CFP National Championship in 2019.
The former Tiger won two Super Bowls in four years with Kansas City and won two Super Bowl titles with the Chiefs before eventually seeing his time with the team end after training camp last season.
Take a look at Schefter’s report about Edwards-Helaire’s decision to re-sign with the Saints:
The former first-round pick was expected to be the next big sensation for Kansas City but, unfortunately, he never fully lived up to the hype.
A native of Baton Rouge, Edwards-Helaire will have a chance to compete for a Super Bowl with his local team.
