Reports and discussions continue to fly around for the New Orleans Saints. For their veteran players who are excited to get back to work and help the future of the organization, they returned to action to begin this week.
Notable players like Chris Olave, Demario Davis, Tyrann Mathieu, among plenty others, began workouts as a part of New Orleans' offseason program. They are voluntary workouts, but plenty of guys were itching to get back to the grind.
Chris Olave's new look
According to images from the Saints' workouts to begin this offseason, Chris Olave looks like he's added a noticeable amount of muscle. The emerging wideout was cleared to return to end last season but was held out of action for precaution due to his concussion history.
With the future of Derek Carr up in the air, it remains to be seen who will throw the ball to Olave and co. next season. Olave is entering the final year of his rookie deal with New Orleans.
With this added muscle, the hope is that it will help Olave stay healthier. He's dealt with multiple concussions during his pro career so far that have held him out of action.
With a thicker build, he may be able to play a bit more physically down the field and, hopefully, avoid some hits that may have affected him a bit more in years past. Regardless, you can tell that he has been committed to the Saints and his playing future this offseason.
New Orleans has done a fair amount of work on this upcoming wide receiver class as well, including pre-draft visits and discussions during the NFL Scouting Combine. They may want to add another young option in the passing game.
No matter what - Olave will be a massive piece to the offense under Kellen Moore next season and potentially beyond.
