Fans first met Bachelor Nation star Serena Chew on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and she returned to our screens for Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since her time on the shows, Serena has been continuing to share her journey with Bachelor Nation fans on social media.
She has been living in Miami, Florida, but recently moved back to the Bay Area in California without any explanation.
Now, she’s taken to Instagram to open up and reveal the real reason behind why she left.
On her Instagram Story, she shared, “Happy December everyone, I quit my job. I feel like I told you guys that I was moving back to the Bay area with no real context, so this is the reason.”
As fans know, Serena has long been a flight attendant and recently obtained her pilot’s license.
She continued her video on Instagram Story, further explaining why she decided to quit her job and move out of Miami.
Serena stated, “I am quitting my job because I’m moving back to ‘the Bay’ to pursue my pilot training full time. I am giving up my original dream job. I had the best 5 years of being a flight attendant, and I get really emotional thinking about it because this is a huge transition, but I have new goals now. And I figured doing it in the Bay, living with my family is gonna be more sound.”
The Bachelor Nation star also shared that she’s excited to reconnect with her friends and family back home, as well as meet more people in the aviation industry.
Serena also revealed that she is still working and has been feeling very conflicted about her decision.
“I’m not out of a job quite yet. I just put in my two weeks, so I think my last day will be December 20th,” she shared. “It’s just really conflicting because it’s not like I hated being a flight attendant. It was the best job in the world, and then I had to go and fly an airplane and love that even more! So my heart and my mind are really conflicted.”
Serena explained that in her heart she knows this is the right choice and it’s what she wants to do, but her head still hasn’t fully grasped what’s happening.
“So it’s really really anxious, exciting, and all of these nerves, and I’ve just been in my head a little bit,” she admitted.
We know it wasn’t an easy decision to make, but we are so excited for Serena and wishing her all the best as she starts this exciting new chapter.
We know she’s going to do amazing things and we can’t wait to see where her pilot training takes her!
