Serena Williams' husband makes huge personal announcement after her body transformation

Serena Williams' husband will be part of Shark Tank Season 17 as a guest investor, with the Reddit co-founder making the announcement on X.

Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, has announced he will join the hit TV show Shark Tank as a guest investor for Season 17. This news comes hot on the heels of the tennis legend showing off her dramatic body transformation.

Williams, 43, has shifted her focus to business and family life after winning 23 singles Grand Slams and 73 WTA singles trophies. She shares two children with successful businessman Ohanian, whom she started dating in 2015. Williams retired from tennis three years ago, but she's determined not to let her physique slacken, with the American showing off a chiselled look during a gym workout.

Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit and the venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, has paid particular attention to women's sports, considering his wife's legendary status. He recently purchased an 8-10% stake in Chelsea FC Women, and according to Williams, her husband has "started a whole movement in women's sports by getting billions invested."

Williams also branded her hubby as the "GOAT of investing" in a video posted online. Now, his business skills will be present on his TV show Shark Tank, with Ohanian being a guest investor in Season 17 following the exit of Dallas Mavericks co-owner Mark Cuban.

"Looks like the secret is out. Can't wait for yall to watch," Ohanian confirmed on social media platform X. Williams can seek advice from her husband, and she has revealed that discipline is “the No.1 thing” she has carried from her tennis career into business.

“Tennis is [played] every day, you have to do it every day. You have to train, and business is the same. It is exactly the same. You have to be very disciplined,” she told CNBC last month.

“I think a lot of things are nature but a lot of things can be nurtured,” she added. “You also have to be determined through ups and downs, be determined to keep going.

"And that’s one thing that I’m excited to do, to talk to these mentors about that determination that I’ve shown so much in my past career and just bring it out to this new career.”

While Serena is showing no signs of coming out of retirement, her older sister, Venus, a seven-time Grand Slam winner, is showing no signs of slowing down. Venus Williams has accepted a wildcard for the Washington Open, which would be her first competitive match in 16 months.

The 45-year-old's last competitive game was at the Miami Open in March 2024, and her last win came at the Cincinnati Open in August 2023. "There's something truly special about DC — the energy, the fans, the history," said Williams. "This city has always shown me so much love and I can't wait to compete there again."
