By all accounts it seems Serena Williams is having a pretty fantastic summer. In June she donned her finest silver cowboy boots for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, stunned in a leopard-print maxi giving new life to the animal print trend and got to see husband Alexis Ohanian rock a kilt on a trip to Scotland. Then, earlier this month, she showed off her flamenco dancing skills—less impressive than her moves on the tennis court, but still not too shabby. And the four-time Olympic gold medalist was also inducted into the Team USA Hall of Fame alongside gymnast Gabby Douglas and track and field athlete Allyson Felix.
And now, the tennis champ appears to be living it up on a boat with her girlfriends in the cutest blue bikini and matching sarong.
On Thursday Williams posted a series of photos of her serving some seriously fabulous poses while out on a boat for a sunny afternoon. “Me and my girls… are out in the streets tonight. But we starting here,” she captioned the carousel of images. She’s clearly having a blast with this impromptu photoshoot, working all her angles, but it’s her blue bikini and matching cover-up that immediately drew my eye.
The textured set includes a Monday Swimwear bikini top ($106) and bottom ($90) in the most gorgeous shade of azure blue. But the real star of the look is definitely the matching crochet skirt ($145) adding even more glamour to Williams’ yacht party.
Even her friends got in on the glam cover-up fun with Monday designs of their own, including a deep-V maxi dress with gold hardware ($218) worn over a classic black one-piece, and a one-shoulder maxi with a high slit ($220) styled over a matching Monday bikini top.
The 43-year-old Olympian’s party-ready pictures come just a few weeks after posting a very different outfit video also on a yacht. Over July 4th weekend William shared a video of herself getting ready to pose for photos in a cropped halter and mini skirt before her 7-year-old daughter Olympia abruptly pulls her skirt up to cover her midriff. Williams jokingly captioned the video, “Olympia Ohanian always keeping me in check!”
Perhaps that’s why Williams decided to keep this particular outing to just friends. Now my only question remaining is, how do I score an invite for next time?
