Serena Williams hasn't shown any interest in coming out of retirement, but her latest social media post has fans convinced she can handle the competition at 43 years old.
Williams, the former No. 1 player in the world, won 23 Grand Slam titles during her incredible career. Her final match took place at the 2022 US Open. After defeating Danka Kovinic and Anett Kontaveit, she lost to Ajla Tomljanovic in a three-set thriller.
Following the final match of her career, Williams delivered a heartfelt message to the crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
"These are happy tears, I guess. I don't know. And I wouldn't be Serena if there wasn't Venus, so thank you Venus. She's the only reason Serena Williams ever existed ... It's been a fun ride. It's been the most incredible ride and journey I've ever been on," Williams said.
Even though Williams is approaching the three-year mark for her retirement, she proved this week that she's in extraordinary shape.
On Thursday morning, Williams shared a few photos from her cryotherapy sessions on Instagram.
"This was Day 2 of cryotherapy. What an experience I lasted the full 3 minutes this time," Williams wrote for her caption. "I can’t wait to share my wellness journey with y’all! I can feel a difference from last time."
Fans couldn't help but comment on Williams' appearance.
"You look amazing that body oh my," an Instagram user commented.
"Looking amazing beautiful," another person wrote.
"SHES READY FOR WIMBLEDON 2026," one fan declared.
"Come back and show the tennis world how it’s done! We miss you and tennis needs you. Always and forever the GOAT," another fan said.
Williams is keeping herself quite busy. Earlier this month, she announced that she's launching a video podcast with her sister Venus.
"We’re so excited to be launching our new podcast, a place where we will share our personal stories, have authentic conversations, spotlight important topics, and laugh a lot," the Williams sisters told Variety. "This platform gives us the chance to engage directly with our fans who have supported us throughout our careers, and we’re excited to connect with audiences, old and new, in a way we’ve never done before."
The Williams sisters' podcast will debut this August on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
