The former tennis star has been making the most of her retirement since hanging up her racket in 2022, with her latest adventure taking full priority as the iconic British tournament gets underway
Serena Williams is firmly focused on enjoying time with her family this summer as the 2025 Wimbledon Championships get underway in London.
The former tennis star, who hung up her racket following the U.S. Open in 2022, is currently basking in the sunshine of Sardinia at a time when she would usually be breaking out in a sweat at the iconic All England Lawn Tennis club. During her time as a professional, Williams won a remarkable seven Wimbledon singles titles during an incredible career.
Last year, the 43-year-old opened up on the "intense weight loss" journey she's been on since calling time on her tennis career. Following her surprise appearance in the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in February, Williams humorously suggested she'd have copped a fine at Wimbledon for the dance she did during her shock gig.
Now, it seems she couldn't have distanced herself further away from the third major of the year, which got underway on Monday, having been spotted living her best life in retirement on a family vacation off the coast of Sardinia.
Pictures show Williams enjoying the warm weather with her tech entrepreneur husband, Alexis Ohanian, and daughters Olympia, 7, and baby Adira on a luxury yacht off the coast of the Italian island.
The doting mom watched on from the luxury vessel as her eldest child jumped into the sea with her dad, before Olympia enjoyed being dragged around by a jet-ski on an inflatable alongside a friend.
Wearing a black bikini and chic green halterneck, Williams remained aboard to hold her newest arrival and keep a close eye on proceedings - a far cry from her usual summers spent racing around tennis courts and preparing for some of the biggest games of her life.
But having amassed an eye-watering $94.8million from her tennis career, she is now finally getting to reap the rewards of her incredible success. During her time on the court, Williams, who turned professional in 1995, won a remarkable 73 career titles.
Her latest trip to the Mediterranean comes shortly after she spent time at Cannes Lions earlier this month, where she announced a podcast alongside her sister, Venus, while at the Festival of Creativity in France.
The iconic tennis siblings have partnered with Elon Musk's X to host 'Unfiltered Truth', which will debut in August. The project is the latest business venture in Williams' busy life, and will be produced by her own company, Nine Two Six Productions.
As for her husband, Ohanian, he recently bought a 10 per cent stake in Chelsea Women's Football Club, where three USWNT players are on the books, also joining their board in the process.
As for WImbledon, this year's tournament got underway on Monday in the sweltering London heat, where Live Electronic Line Calling has been employed in favor of the conventional method.
Line judges have been a fixture at Wimbledon for 147 years, but this year, 300 officials have been supplanted by an electronic system that uses artificial intelligence to determine if a ball is in or out.
