The Tennessee Titans are believed to be considering a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Shedeur Sanders is among those expected to draw consideration with the top overall selection. That said, the Colorado quarterback isn't hell-bent on becoming the No. 1 overall pick, as he expressed during interviews at Super Bowl 59.
Sanders was asked by ESPN's Kevin Clark whether he would hold a grudge if he wasn't selected with the No. 1 overall pick.
"Why would I be mad?" Sanders responded to the question. "I think about it like this. These are good problems to have. You could be in a way worse situation. Being No. 1, that don't really matter to me at the end of the day."
Sanders said he cares more about landing in the right situation instead of earning the glory that comes with being the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.
"It's all about fit," Sanders said. "Any situation you're going into is not gonna be the best situation. The numbers of it don't really matter. I ain't caught up on that."
Sanders could certainly be a fit for the Titans. Tennessee is expected to show interest in adding a quarterback after Will Levis struggled during his second season.
That said, the Titans have plenty of other holes to fill, most notably on the offensive line, and could stand to add some blue-chip talent to their roster. That's why Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker implied Tennessee wouldn't simply draft a quarterback No. 1 overall because they have the top selection.
"We won't pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL draft," Brinker told reporters at a January news conference. "We won't do that."
Could Brinker and new general manager Mike Borgonzi believe Sanders can be a generational talent at quarterback? Sure, it's possible.
Still, the team might prefer position players like wideout/cornerback Travis Hunter or edge rusher Abdul Carter to Sanders or another top quarterback, like Miami's Cam Ward, with the top selection. USA TODAY's latest mock draft has the Titans taking Carter with the top selection.
