Shedeur Sanders Posts Cryptic 3-Word Message About Browns Future

The Cleveland Browns’ four-player quarterback competition between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders has been one of the most-talked about storyline of the NFL offseason.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski has maintained ever since the draft that all four players have an equal chance of winning the job, though many suspect it’s Flacco’s to lose given his experience as an NFL starter.

“Once you get into training camp, of course, you're getting ready to play games and ultimately getting ready for playing the season, but right now [deciding a starter is] not our focus,” Stefanski stated last month.

The odds seem stacked against Sanders, who many expected to be a first-round draft pick back in April but fell to Round 5 in one of the biggest draft falls of all time.

Flacco has a Super Bowl ring, Pickett is a former first-round pick with a 15-10 record as a starter in the NFL, and Gabriel was selected two rounds ahead of Sanders while he was still on the board.

And while the former Colorado quarterback and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year faces what many believe is an uphill battle to the QB1 spot, Sanders himself seemingly addressed his uncertain future with the Brown on his X account.

“Time will tell 🤫,” Sanders wrote, in what appears to be an acknowledgement to the fact that he’s not a lock to make Cleveland’s 53-man roster.

The reports on where Sanders stands in the QB competition have varied.

Some Browns beat reporters have claimed Sanders has stood out when he’s gotten his reps, while others have claimed he’s firmly in fourth place and a long shot to be on Cleveland’s roster past training camp, which starts later this month.

However, if the Browns were to cut ties with Sanders, there will likely be a decent list of suitors for the 23-year-old passer. The Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, and the Buffalo Bills, among others, have been linked to Sanders in recent weeks.
