Shedeur Sanders waited for his 'Welcome to the NFL' moment, but he's making the most of it. The Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback impressed the masses during minicamp and is expected to compete for reps during the upcoming season.
Sanders was asked by NFL Networks' Kay Adams about his experience with the Browns thus far and his opinion of the QB room.
“At practice I’m like, ‘Wow I’m really with Joe Flacco right now," Sanders admitted the NFLPA Rookie Premiere. "We’re on the same team.’ So that’s cool. And Deshaun (Watson) of course. He’s active and in all of the meetings so it’s cool talking to him.”
Adams asked Shedeur if Joe Flacco was giving him any advice so far.
“Of course! Everybody in that room is cool. Outside the room, people try to put us against each other. But inside the room, we know we’re one.”
Sanders is trying to work his way up the depth chart by showing he is a valuable member of the team. While many see his time in Cleveland as an uphill battle, he's waiting for his opportunity like he did during the 2025 NFL Draft. The 'Grown' QB understands the process and is soaking up everything around him. It's only a matter of time before he'll be called upon to lead the Browns.
The franchise has utilized nine starting passers in the past two years. With Flacco tabbed as the likely starter, Sanders will try to prove his ability to grow under the system.
