Shedeur Sanders Sends Clear Message Amid 500K Rumor

It's not every day that a fifth-round pick is one of the biggest stories across the NFL, but this has been the case for Shedeur Sanders.

The new Cleveland Browns quarterback is the son of Colorado head coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Deion Sanders.

After winning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024, he is now fighting with three other quarterbacks, headlined by Super Bowl champion Joe Flacco, for the Browns' starting role. However, aside from attempting to prove he belongs in the NFL, the younger Sanders is also staving off rumors about himself.

Over the weekend, it was rumored that he had purchased a Rolls-Royce valued at over $500,000. While Sanders was one of the higher-earning players in terms of NIL at the college level, his contract with the Browns is a four-year, $4.64 million deal. A mark that would mean he spent around half of his early salary before playing a down in the NFL.

On Monday, Sanders took to X to denounce the rumors about the car purchase.

"Another lie…. I’m focused on my team not a car purchase," wrote Sanders.

The 144th overall pick in this year's draft has mostly stayed out of the spotlight since his draft slide. As he has made it clear during a recent interview with SportsCasting, he is focused on being a good teammate and carving out a role for himself.

"I've mainly just been focusing on the team, everybody that's currently around me, the coaches on the team," Sanders said. "I haven't really been on my phone much or talking to many people. I really don't even talk to my family. It's one of those situations where I just have to lock in, stay focused on what's present now."

While Sanders hasn't typically been shy about flexing diamond chains or his shiny watch, which has become a worldwide celebration, it's clear he is taiking his image very seriously with the Browns.
