'Sheriff Country' and 'Fire Country' Will Air Back-to-Back on CBS' New Schedule

The Fire Country universe expands this fall as Sheriff Country joins the flagship series. CBS has already announced that the Morena Baccarin series will finally premiere in the upcoming TV season, but having the show on the schedule makes it more real.

The network has not made huge changes to the Fire Country schedule, with the show set to air on Fridays. Sheriff Country will air on the same night. Additionally, Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue will also be on the schedule. Sheriff Country kicks off the night at 8 p.m. ET with Fire Country following after in its regular time slot of 9 p.m. ET and Boston Blue at 10 p.m. ET.

Sheriff Country stars Baccarin as straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of Fire Country). She investigates criminal activity while she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater, contending with her ex-con father, Wes (W. Earl Brown), who is an off-the-grid marijuana grower, and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter. Other cast members include Matt LauriaChristopher Gorham, and Michele Weaver.

Boston Blue stars Donnie Wahlberg as he reprises his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan in a universe expansion of the long-running top drama Blue Bloods. In the new drama, Reagan takes a position with the Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with Detective Lena Peters (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis will showrun and executive produce. Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg will also serve as executive producers.

Sheriff Country had been ordered to series a while ago, but was held off for the 2025-2026 season. The show has been teased in a couple of episodes of Fire Country as Sheriff Fox dropped by to bust some offenders. The new show has been given an interesting time slot, serving as the lead-in to Fire Country Season 4.

"Coming off another winning season enabled us to make bold scheduling moves and fortify our strong lineup with thematically compatible programs every night of the week for strong viewer flow and to serve as a powerful launch pad for the new shows," CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement while announcing the new schedule. "We’re appreciative of our loyal audiences who regularly watch on CBS and Paramount+ and to our creative partners who continue to deliver outstanding content," she added.
