Should Bucs Cut Sterling Shepard?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot of receivers who can go out and get it done, so the team could have to let some of them go as a result.

Sterling Shepard Brings Versatility to Bucs Receiver Corps

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's David Kenyon, he picks one player that every NFL team should consider cutting before the start of the regular season. For the reigning NFC South champions, he believes that player should be wide receiver Sterling Shepard.

"Once a steady receiver for the Giants, Sterling Shepard is fast approaching the twilight of his career," Kenyon writes. "Tampa Bay simply has too many young options to develop over Shepard, whose injury history is problematic with a best-case scenario that seems replaceable."

The Buccaneers just signed the veteran to a one-year deal, and while it is not costing them too much, there may not be a point to having him on the team.

He has only played in 25 games over the course of the last three seasons combined, as he has not been able to stay on the field due to injury. The team has young guys like rookie Jalen McMillan and Trey Palmer who could step up and be the WR3, so the Bucs might not need Shepard.
