Spencer Rattler Has Telling Reaction To Derek Carr's Injury

Spencer Rattler might be the Week 1 starter for the New Orleans Saints due to Derek Carr's injury situation.

Carr is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury that could force him to miss the entire 2025 season. He missed seven games last season for the Saints due to a plethora of injuries, which included broken bones in his non-throwing hand.

The Saints restructured Carr's contract this offseason, making him the unquestioned starter for Kellen Moore. Now that he's expected to miss a considerable amount of time, New Orleans will have to consider other options.

Maybe, just maybe, Rattler will be the team's starting quarterback. During his rookie season, he threw for 1,317 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

Immediately after Carr's potential season-ending injury became public news, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reported that Rattler will be "all in" on his offseason preparation.

"Sounds like Spencer Rattler is all in on his preparation for this season," Underhill wrote on social media. "He'll be in attendance on Monday when the voluntary offseason program opens, I'm told."

That report was validated this Saturday by Rattler.

Moments ago, Rattler shared a photo of him working out at the Saints' practice facility.

The Saints could always draft a quarterback later this month. They're the odds-on favorites to land Shedeur Sanders.

There's also a slight chance the Saints will pursue Aaron Rodgers. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport doesn't envision a scenario where the four-time MVP takes his talents to the Big Easy.

For better or worse, it'll be an interesting offseason for the Saints.
