Star Trek: Discovery Climbs Nielsen Streaming Top 10 Rankings

Star Trek: Discovery not only returned to the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 but climbed higher up the rankings. Star Trek: Discovery season 5 is the final season of the Paramount+ series. In Star Trek: Discovery season 5, Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the USS Discovery seek the ancient treasure of the Progenitors, which has the power to create life. Discovery season 5's fun and adventurous tone, as well as its integration of Star Trek: The Next Generation era lore, is resonating with viewers.

For the week of April 15-21, Star Trek: Discovery has climbed Nielsen Streaming Top 10 (Originals) chart, with Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 4, "Face the Strange," clocking in at the number 9 spot. The previous hour, Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 3, "Jinaal," cracked the Nielsen Top 10 for the first time at number 10. "Face the Strange" goes up a rank with fewer streamed minutes

Interestingly, Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 4, "Face the Strange" ranked one spot higher than Discovery season 5, episode 4, "Jinaal" in the previous week's Nielsen Streaming Top 10 (Originals) rankings despite lower numbers. (241 million minutes for "Face the Strange" versus 257 million minutes for "Jinaal." This is due to overall lower numbers for all of the shows in Nielsen's Top 10 for the week of April 15-21 compared to the previous week. Alex Perry of TrekCore updated his list on X of how Star Trek: Discovery's episodes compare to Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which you can see below:

Although Discovery's numbers lag behind Picard and Strange New Worlds, it's still a phenomenal achievement for Star Trek: Discovery to be a Top 10 streaming show, and it reinforces the popularity of Captain Michael Burnham's seriesStar Trek: Discovery still has 6 episodes of season 5 to chart, and no doubt, there will be huge interest in the final two episodes, one of which is directed by Jonathan Frakes, and the latter being Star Trek: Discovery's series finale.
